My quest for knowledge has been hindered by medical school. Reading medical facts and memorizing them daily leaves little space (for me) to research my other interests, especially what is facing the globe today in terms of health. Without this external research I don’t feel I can be an adequate source of information. So I want to change that a little.
To ameliorate the situation, I have been researching more as I’m starting a new campaign for Canadian medical students that has been over a year in-the-making. It’s called the Clip Campaign and it aims to bring one educational, reputable global health-related video clip to every medical class once per week. It will be shown between classes, and it starts this week with a clip called, “The Human Face of TB“. It has been really challenging to start this campaign, and I wonder how it will be received. I expect some negative feedback, but enough people were on board at each school to at least try it. I’ll be posting the weekly clips here on my blog, as well. Fingers crossed that it provides some benefit to informing future physicians about pressing concerns. Or, at least it will make me more knowledgeable.
