Making Progress

As I respond to my emails, I wonder: what does it mean to make progress? Tonight in my inbox, I see a lot of busy work, circling, thoughtless exchanges, bureaucracy, politics, small talk, pleasantries.

And then, out in the world, I see ideas captured in words and shared with open-eared audiences. I’m introduced to quiet projects that change lives and mindsets. I watch and experience people pouring their hearts into things. There are relationships forming. Tonight I think I want to be out in the world, not swimming in my inbox.
