I’m reading this incredible piece of fiction by Lloyd Jones called Mister Pip. If you enjoy the type of writing that makes you think, “how did you come up with a sentence to describe that thing I’ve always unconsciously noticed but never said out loud”, you should read this book.
“You cannot pretend to read a good book. Your eyes will give you away. So will your breathing. A person entranced by a book simply forgets to breathe. The house can catch alight and a reader deep in a book will not look up until the wallpaper is up in flames.” – from Mister Pip
