Hiroshima at first glance. Feels decidedly good walking out of the train station. Feels almost like a romantic european city. www.hotel-active.com for sleeping is chic. Mouthwatering food options – oysters, okonomiyaki, sushi – finally.  Narrow cosmopolitan streets, cafes, french bakeries, produce stands, take-away maki roll and udon stands, layers of restaurants and drinking spots, next to internet cafes, panchinko and slots (casinos), ‘love hotels’, 100Yen shops (like dollar stores).  Have yet to visit the museum, but as we were told by the lonely planet, this place has made quite the come back.
